We are evolving how cricket can be played in Secondary Schools across Aotearoa with plenty of fund and action.  It's all about challenge, self-improvement and fun with friends.

These sessions build on the foundation being established with the Smash Play Junior Tamariki and is the culmination of 12 months work.  The resources provide great options for any secondary school teacher or youth coach wanting to get ideas for delivery.

It is a game-based approach to skill acquisition and is based on feedback from young people across NZ.

You will see four key sections on the website:

• Training Games
  • x10 games to be used in team sessions (including games videos and downloadable PDFs in both full-colour and easy-print options)
• Modified Game Formats
  • x3 new modified game formats (including games videos, downloadable PDFs in both full-colour and easy-print options and Play HQ e-scoring guide where applicable)
• Get Inspired
  • A new content section for Smash Play, focused on video content to engage and inspire both coaches and young people
  • The first batch of content include pieces from Dr Ian Renshaw, as well as our four Smash Play Ambassadors; Prue (Auckland), Ocean (CD), Katene (ND) and Callum (Wellington). Further content will continue to be added in coming weeks, and throughout the season.
• Coaches Resource Hub
  • A series of resources to support coaches in their delivery of Smash Play youth-rangatahi
